NKS preset library for Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3. Allows browsing of all presets with full control from Komplete Kontrol and Maschine. Supports latest Omnisphere v3.0.2 or later.
This library for Omnisphere 3 offers browsing of the new Omnisphere 3 Factory Library as well as optionally the Omnisphere 2 Legacy Content. This library is a complete rework of the previous Omnisphere 2 library providing a new controller template that offers the same in-depth level of control as Omnisphere 2 but now also adds the new Main Macro controls while cleaning up the layout. Over 50 pages of controls are available. Additionally, the previous Omnisphere 2 library has now also been completely redone and offers access to the “Omnisphere Legacy” presets. This is no simple update, this is a completely redone library from the ground up with the same in-depth tagging details, control template and updated artwork files.

There are 2 options available depending on your required browsing preference
This library contains over 26,000 factory presets and 18 preset library banks for Omnisphere 3 that can be loaded and browsed directly using the Komplete Kontrol / Maschine software and hardware. All presets contain the Omnisphere preset information, tagging information, sound previews for all files and a new updated 50 page controller template.

Please Note: This library supports Omnisphere 3 only and offers browsing of the Omnisphere 3 Factory content.
If you own the previous Omnisphere 2 library you can use that for all the “Legacy” content however the new controller template will not be available so you will have to adapt between a different controller layout and also the library bank details will not correctly reflect the content but if you prefer not to update your Omnisphere 2 library (maybe you have many favourites marked that will not migrate to the new library) then you can choose to simply add the new Factory content using this option and upgrade to the full bundle at a later time.
This option includes the Omnisphere Factory content above and also an updated version of the Omnisphere 2 Legacy content consisting of an additional 9,000 preset files for the following Omnisphere libraries with banks and sub banks offering filtering of preset files:

Please Note that you need to be using Omnisphere v3.0.2 or later which addresses an issue with the Host Automation causing Omnisphere to either freeze or become very slow to respond when loading some NKS presets. An official release of Omnisphere 3.0.2 is now available to download directly from Spectrasonics so please ensure you have updated to the latest version of Omnisphere 3 before installing this library.
Bob Moog Tribute library has full NKS support and will simply add to your install and create a new bank to browse through this library in Komplete kontrol and Maschine. Updated for Omnisphere 3 controller template.

The Sonic Extension libraries are available in NKS format to offer the custom controls mapped to the hardware for every preset. Each preset in these expansion libraries have completely custom controls that have been painstakingly mapped and labelled to allow instant recall with a preset load. This saves having to re-learn parameters between every preset since every preset is completely different in the control mapping.

Support for a range of 3rd party libraries is also available. You must already have the Omnisphere NKS library purchased and be logged into the site to be able to access these libraries. You must own the actual library and have it installed for the NKS files to work.

Banks will list the available libraries you can select if you wish to filter presets. The bank feature pictured is for Komplete Kontrol v2.
Please Note: If you are using Komplete Kontrol v3 the Bank feature was initially missing in the first few years of KK release and has only just been fixed in v3.5.3 released 17 Dec 2025 so please be sure you are running this version or later which you can update via Native Access. If you are still choosing to use KK v2, please ensure you are using v2.9.6
Extensive in-depth tagging has been done by pulling the tag data from Omnisphere and converting it to NKS compatible tagging
which you can use to filter for sounds.
If you own the Omnisphere 2 library you will also notice a lot of Omnisphere 2 presets have simply been added into Omnisphere 3 libraries making even more duplicates. THis is how Spectrasonics designed the new library and is not an error.
Omnisphere 3 introduces a new global control page which has now been mapped into the newly designed NKS template. The template for Omnisphere 3 has been completely designed from scratch to cover as much as possible based on previous user feedback while still allowing spare Host Automation slots for users custom needs. This new template covers all requested controls such as the Orb, Global controls, Level/Pan/Tune/Envelope controls. We opened Beta testing of the library for a while and designed the template based on users feedback so hopefully it fits your needs as it is not possible to modify this template without resaving all files again which is just not gonna happen. Is there a discount for owners of Omnisphere 2 library?
Yes there is a discount available for the full Omnisphere 3 + Legacy library if you own the previous Omnisphere 2 library.
Does this cover all content in Omnisphere 3?

What is the difference between Omnisphere 2 and Omnisphere 3 “Legacy content”
The Omnisphere 2 files will load just fine in Omnisphere 3 and will load the legacy presets, however they will not offer access to the new main control page macros and will have a different controller template. Also, the bank information does not align well with the new update. This is why the whole library has been completely redone from scratch as Omnisphere Legacy content.
I have issues with Omnisphere Freezing or becoming slow when loading NKS files
Check if you are running v3.0.2 or later of Omnisphere. If there is no update available via the Spectrasonics updater, download the beta update listed at the top of this page.
I notice quite a few duplicate presets
You will notice that there are quite a few duplicate presets. This is NOT a mistake, this is due to the fact that Omnisphere 3, while it has a LOT of presets, does not actually have the quoted amount of unique presets as it appears. There are many presets in Omnisphere 3 that are featured in multiple libraries and these are the exact same preset, however the Omnisphere browser will only show these a single time but list it in multiple libraries.
Can the control template be changed to add a specific control?
Basically no. Omnisphere requires all parameters to be enabled for “Host Automation” before saving an NKS file. I have taken all user feedback over the years and opened a Beta test for users during development to submit feedback. Based on all this info I have designed what should be a suitable template for the majority of people and it is not possible to add anything further to this template. I encourage users to stay informed via the newsletter so they can help contribute to future developments to avoid dissapointment.
Does other content such as Keyscape, Trilian, Sonic Extensions and 3rd Party NKS libraries work with Omnisphere 3?
Yes! All existing content works just as it always has and in the case of Keyscape, Trilian and Sonic Extensions there is no need for any updates as these have custom macro controls per-preset already so are unaffected by the Omnisphere 3 update.
3rd party NKS libraries will also work as long as you have the original library installed but note these do not have the updated controls and will not be updated, they will be able to be used just as they are in Omnisphere 2 and will work in the same way in Omnisphere 3.
I own the Bob Moog NKS library, does this need to be updated?
The Bob Moog NKS library has already been updated for Omnisphere 3 to add the new control template and is offered to users as a Free upgrade. You can find the Omnisphere 3 compatible version in your download area.

It is a “NKS Compatibility Library” designed to work with the listed plugin within Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol and Maschine for the purpose of browsing, loading and controlling presets from the plugin within the Komplete Kontrol / Maschine software.

If expansion content is listed above, this also has to be installed in addition to the full version of the plugin.
