Keyscape NKS Browser for Komplete Kontrol \ Maschine

nks splash keyscape

Version 2.1.1 has just been released and includes some enhancements.
This NKS library contains NKS presets for ALL 400+ Keyscape keyboard presets including mapped controls specific to each model preset. This will allow full browsing of the Keyscape instrument from the keyboard along with access to all controls for each instrument directly from the keyboard.

All presets have been converted to NKS files which contains the preset sound information, tagging information and custom controls for every keyboard model. Keyscape Creative library for Omnisphere contains 20 pages of controls.

Compatibility

  • Supports Komplete Kontrol Software v1.9+
  • Supports Maschine Software v2.6+
  • Supports S series MK1/MK2 keyboards
  • Supports all Maschine hardware
  • Works on PC / Mac
  • Supports 32 / 64 Bit
  • Requires Spectrasonics Keyscape
  • Requires Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 (for Keyscape Creative library)

Keyscape Creative

For Omnisphere users you will receive the Keyscape Creative preset browser pack.
This contains 1200+ presets for Omnisphere with full taggng and 20 pages of controller mappings.
These presets should tie in nicely with Omnisphere Preset Browsing for Komplete Kontrol.

NOTE: You must own Omnisphere 2 and Keyscape for both librarys to work. If you only own Keyscape you will only have access to the Keyscape library presets. These presets were created using Komplete Kontrol software 1.5 but should work fine with the Maschine Software as reported by users. I cannot offer support on Maschine as I do not own it.

New in v2.1.1

Improved Tagging
Additional tagging has been done to many presets across all libraries as well as a more cleaning up of tags. To make best use of
this be sure to update all your libraries to the latest. Just download and copy over the existing files.

New Sound Previews
New preview files have been generated for all instruments. Bass notes for synth/acoustic bass are now an E1 note which sounds
more natural. Drum kit presets now play 4 different hits to showcase a few kit sounds. Acoustic guitars now produce a “strum”
chord instead of a single C note. Some sounds were fixed but others (especially small drum kits) may not play a sound.

New Image Display for loaded Plug-ins (Maschine Studio/MK3/Komplete MK2)
When browsing for a sound and loading a preset the display screens would show a black screen with a text title of the plugging
instead of the plugging splash logo. This has been addressed and now adds an extra few folders to cater for this. A splash image
is now displayed along with the colour of the plug-in header.

Features Added in v2.1

omnisphere banks

Banks in Omnisphere

If you donated for the Omnisphere NKS browser pack be sure that you have downloaded and installed the 2.1 version which now adds library Banks.

Keyscape now includes the “Keyscape Factory” and “Keyscape Creative” banks for Omnisphere allowing you to open a Keyscape instrument within Keyscape or Omnisphere.

Cleaner Tagging

Tagging in Keyscape has been corrected between the Keyscape Creative library and Omnisphere library’s removing some duplications and slight variations on the same tag.

Keyscape Factory for Omnisphere
Keyscape factory presets are now available as a library for Omnisphere. These offer loading direct into Omnisphere for sound design but do not contain custom macro mappings per preset, instead offer the same parameter map as Omnisphere presets.

Updated Plugin Artwork
Artwork for all NKS library plugins has been updated to fit in better with the style of the factory library. If you have the previous version 1 NKS library you will need to overwrite the IMAGES included with this release.

Sound Previews
This update now includes sound previews for the preset browser. Every preset will play a small sound sample of the preset sound while browsing. This now adds some extra size to the download and the installation.

Free Version

The Free Download Version contains a handful of presets to test how the NKS installation and compatibility will work. You can download and install this for free to test things out before purchasing the full NKS browser pack.

Browser & Controls

Each keyboard/piano preset for the Keyscape VST has all macro controls mapped and tagged. Each preset differs and so too does the controller mapping:

Keyscape PresetBrowser

Controls when loading a preset into Omnisphere you will see a generic set of controls used for Omnisphere factory presets. Use the Omnisphere versions for sound design and use the Keyscape version for dedicated control (and before asking, No I will not create a dedicated map for presets within Omnisphere)

Keyscape PresetBrowserOmnisphere

Presets are tagged with full information. Artwork for Omnisphere is included with the Omnisphere 2 browser for Komplete Kontrol.

Keyboard Velocity Settings

Because all parameters are saved with an NKS preset this means the keybed velocity is saved too. I have set a default velocity curve for the presets which will override your own preference. This is unavoidable but on page 1 you will find parameters to adjust the velocity curve and you can easily save presets as you go to save your own settings.

Keyscape Controls2

I am working on a possible method to deliver preset files that include velocity specific for the S88/S61 as optional installs if it is popular enough to justify. Let me know if this interests you.

Sound Previews

As of v2.1 of the NKS preset pack you will now hear sound previews as you scroll through the library which speeds up the workflow when finding a sound. A small sound file with the name of the preset will be found in the ".previews" folder. If you notice any sound files missing, silent or corrupt please letn me know and I will have them fixed up.
